The Rules:

DEADLINE FOR ENTRY FORMS AND FEES IS 9:30 A.M. SATURDAY 01/14/12 FIDDLERS & JUDGES MEETING @ 9:40 AM SATURDAY

1. Entry fees and applications due before 9:30 am on Saturday, no late entries will be accepted

2. All contestants shall draw for initial order of appearance. Contestants who are not ready when their number is called will be disqualified. Your draw number will be the same for both rounds.

3. Each contestant shall play a hoedown, waltz and tune of their choice (not a waltz or hoedown). No tune shall be played more than once. There is a five (5) minute time limit.

4. Each contestant may have no more than two accompanists, no amplified or electrical instruments allowed.

5. There will be three judges. Decisions of the judges will be final.

6. Contestants will be judged on Tone, Timing and Dance Ability.

7. Accompanists will play two (2) tunes, a fast and a slow. There will be a four (4) minute time limit.

8. In the Husband & Wife division, one must be the fiddler and the other the accompanist. Two (2) tunes will be played, one fast and one slow. Time limit will be four (4) minutes.

9. Tapes and records may be sold. AOTFA will handle sales. Details and check in at the event.

10. Trick or Fancy fiddling and cross tuning the fiddle are permitted in the Trick or Fancy division but not in the age or championship division. Two rounds will be played. There will be a four (4) minute time limit.

11. Judges score sheets will be available upon completion of contest.

12. Scores will be posted after each round of play. Grand Champion will not be posted.

13. All age divisions (except Junior/Junior) will play two rounds to determine the division winner. Division tie breakers will be played on Sunday with one hoedown.

14. Junior/Junior division will play one round to determine the winner.

15. Grand Champion will be held on Sunday with two tunes, one fast and one slow with a four (4) minute time limit.

16. The Grand Champion division will be the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of each age division entry with no entry fee. Junior/Junior winners are welcome (and encouraged) to return on Sunday for the Grand Champion entry.
